GENERAL INTRODUCTION
Pad-mounted transformer, also called as “American Type Substation Transformer", is the complete set of power distribution equipment composed with a common and hermetically sealed tank to accommodate transformer active-part, HV load switch, protective fuse and HV/LV connections, while being equipped with complete set of operation monitoring devices (for example, pressure gauge, oil-level indicator, oil temperature indicator and etc..) and plus LV power distribution devices.
After digesting the up-to-date technology of the pad-mounted transformer, comparing various advantages of different structures and also the application habits and on-site conditions, Pearl Electric designs and manufactures the unique pad-mounted transformer which features low loss, compact size, easy installation, simple maintenance, low construction cost and etc.. It could be widely applied in industrial areas, residential neighborhood, commercial center, high buildings, factories and mines, harbor and ports, etc. It is also popularly adopted for power grid renovation works.
FEATURES OF STEP DOWN PADMOUNT TRANSFORMER
• Safety & Reliability
Hermetically-sealed structure is adopted for the whole product, all the exposed metal parts are reliably grounded, no insulation distance needed and operators’ safety is guaranteed.
Full-insulation connection methods are adopted for the HV circuit, Full-insulation plot-in type T-connectors are adopted for the cable incoming, which is quite easy for plug-in and out.
Load switch is operated with the insulated operation rod (provided with product as special tools), to guarantee operator's personnel safety.
No exposed dismountable bolts, to avoid un-expected dismantling.
The protective fence could be mounted on radiators to avoid un-expected damage or contact.
• Perfect Function & High Performance
HV circuit could be dead front type, ring type or dual power source type. And HV metering design is available. If required, HV circuit could be designed with lightning arrester, electricity live display, fault indicator and etc..
Two level fuse protections with plug-in type fuse or current-limiting fuse is adopted, to guarantee reliable protection and all-round protection of transformers. Plug-in type fuse works for breaking the circuit during partial overloading, including short-circuit fault at LV side, transformer overloading or over-temperature operation, and other bad operation, thus to protect the transformer. And the current-limiting fuses are used to break circuit at overall large-scale faulty
current, for example, to quickly break the faulty current when short-circuit fault occurs at transformer's HV side, thus to protect the HV circuit.
T-connectors are adopted, with reliable performance.
LV side could be designed with electricity energy metering, dynamic/static reactive compensation, phase-missing protection remote-telecommunication and other functionalities, thus to fully meet client's application requirements in all respects.
