This type of substation is placed at different points in an electrical network. They can connect different parts of the network and that are a source of sub-transmission or distribution lines. This type of substation can change the transmission voltage to a sub-transmission voltage. The converted voltage lines can provide a source for distribution substations. In some cases, power is tapped from the line of -transmission line to utilize in an industrial capacity along the way. Or else, the power will supply to a distribution substation.
The pre-fabricated substation (also called as Compact Substation") is the complete set of step-up system equipment, composed of HV switchgear, transformer, LV switchgear, and auxiliary devices and connections sub-assemblies. The transformer integrated could be oil-immersed type or dry-type.
It is mainly used for outdoor step-up application environment with off-load tap-changing.
• Pre-fabricated substation consists of three parts: HV room, LV room, transformer room. The type of transformer can use oil-immersed transformer or dry-type transformer
• Transformer is installed in transformer room, adding protective screening to avoid people straying to transformer room.
HV side adopts vacuum load switch--fuse combined electric appliance or vacuum circuit breaker.
• The high-voltage side meets five prevention functions: HV fuse and HV load switch linking protection device to avoid transformer phase-loss operation;
HV adopts three-station load switch to meet the requirement of safety maintenance to the ground; Network door electric lock of transformer room realize the automatic power-off protection function of the network door.
• The low voltage side adopts frame-type circuit breaker and bus bar. It can install intelligent measuring and control device to realize remote monitoring management in accordance to client's needs.
• According to the environmental requirement, the shell of the pre- fabricated transformer is divided into cold-rolled steel plate, common clad plate, stainless steel clad plate, stainless steel plate and container shell.
• Under natural ventilation conditions, the transformer of pre-fabricated substation can run in full capacity, so fans are no needed. In the consideration of exceeding ambient temperature and overloaded operation, fans can be installed as required by the clients.
